IBC Technical Papers Sessions & Posters

What are the IBC Technical Papers?

The IBC Technical Papers and Posters are world renowned for promoting the latest innovations and technological thinking. Stripped of marketing and commercial influence the proposals made to IBC are rigorously peer reviewed and stand or fall on the strength of their expertise, novelty, clarity and insight.

Forming the cornerstone of the IBC Conference, as an integral part of the Advances in Technology stream, the papers and posters provide us with a fascinating barometer of trends in media developments and showcase, explain and forecast advances which will benefit the entire media industry.

The Call for Technical Papers has now closed.

Publishing Your Research

In 2016 more proposals than ever were submitted to IBC, with the final total reaching 298. Competition is intense and IBC's experienced Technical Papers Committee review all proposals to choose those which they believe to be the most advanced, innovative and thought-provoking.

Authors of successful proposals are then invited to prepare full papers for publication and to make presentations at the IBC Conference.

The best paper will also receive the accolade of the IBC Best Conference Paper, which in 2016 was awarded to Erik Stare of Teracom, Dr Jordi Giménez of Universitat Politècnica de València and Dr Peter Klenner of Panasonic Europe for their paper 'WIB – A New System Concept for Digital Terrestrial Television'.

Posters & the IBC Future Zone

Technical Posters are selected alongside the Technical Papers and will be on display at IBC2017 for all attendees to view alongside the latest cutting-edge and innovative technology in the IBC Future Zone.

Here you can meet the authors of the posters and gain real insight into the projects being developed in the world’s R&D labs.

IBC Technical Paper Awards

In addition to speaking at the IBC Conference and having their work published, authors of successful IBC Technical Papers will be in with the chance of winning one of our prestigious awards.

The IBC Best Conference Paper Award is in the gift of the IBC Technical Papers Committee and will be awarded to the paper that they feel stands out from this year's submissions. Authors aged under 35 will also be in with a chance of winning the IET Journal Young Professional Award.
