Session Details Roger Mosey will discuss the potential of London 2012 being the first truly Digital Games. At the BBC ,our aim is to bring every sport live to our viewers when they want it, where they want it, on one of our platforms, whether it's TV, Radio, Online or Mobile. Our audience will be able to personalise their Olympic experience as never before. Don't count traditional media out - 42 million UK viewers watched the 2008 Games on traditional mainstream TV. But could 2012 be to Digital in the UK what Queen Elizabeth the Second's Coronation was to TV and be the catalyst for a real step change in how audiences consume content? Arnaud Simon will give a speech on how innovation is driving sports entertainment. Sports fans are passionate about getting closer to the game, getting caught up in the action and knowing more about the players and the play. Social innovations as well as technology are constantly changing the way fans watch sport and the media covers it. Driven by these changes, the latest technologies promise to enrich the viewing experience and deepen the relationship between viewer, broadcaster and the sport itself. Stimulated by the possibilities on offer, rights-holders, with the help of broadcasters, are successfully changing formats and mixing entertainment elements into sport to retain viewer interest and create stunning shows with more emotion and suspense. In 2009 Eurosport celebrates 20 years as a leader and pioneer in sports media entertainment. To mark this anniversary IBC has invited Eurosport’s Arnaud Simon to deliver a keynote explaining how his company is using the latest technology and its extensive sports broadcasting experience to deliver entertaining and innovative sports coverage across a range of media platforms.
