Adrian Scott

Adrian Scott is apart of the IBC conference committee for 2010Adrian Scott is a leading consultant in the broadcast technology sector.

His early career was as a broadcast journalist, after  he studied journalism at the University of North Carolina. On his return to the UK, Adrian worked as a reporter, presenter and news editor in radio and TV.

His involvement with broadcast technology began when he moved to TV-am as one of the launch team and encountered the BASYS newsroom computer system. In addition to his responsibilities as a senior journalist, he assumed a role as in-house System Manager for the TV-am newsroom system. When ITN bought the BASYS system and subsequently acquired the company which developed it, Adrian moved to ITN as Operations Director for BASYS.

BASYS was eventually acquired by Avid Technology, and Adrian became VP of Marketing for Avid’s newsroom business in the EMEA sector. In 2000, he left Avid to become a Director of Autocue, and in 2002 founded the Bakewell House Consultancy, offering a wide range of services to both broadcasters and manufacturers. His main area of focus is on the “intelligent implementation of technology,” specifically in helping manufacturers develop and take to market better products which respond to user requirements; and in advising broadcasters on how best to exploit and implement technology,  But his activities extend to many other areas including market research and benchmarking, strategy consulting, procurement, and conference production and chairing.
