IBC Rising Stars
At IBC2011 the Rising Stars programme worked alongside the conference & exhibition to represent an excellent opportunity for students and young professionals to get up close and personal to the latest equipment, understand some of the complex issues facing the industry and share in the IBC experience.
Daily tours of the exhibition, led by Meirion Hughes from the BKSTS, guided participants to the areas that interest them while providing a useful overview of the industry and included free access to the Inside Knowledge area in the IBC Production Village and suggestions on how to choose the most relevant sessions.
Networking with fellow students was encouraged at specially organised sessions where there were plenty of scope for questions and answers and advice from seasoned broadcast industry experts.
Students and young professionals were offered the opportunity to participate in the conference by submitting entries to present in the Rising Stars showcase. Successful applicants presented a relevant topic to an audience of industry professionals and be recognised amongst peers as an innovative industry thinker.
Sessions in grey on the programme below were free for all to attend, and any coloured sessions were those in the paid-for Conference programme that we recommended to those Rising Stars who have a conference pass.
