Desktop training from the pros

Technology and operational practices are changing fast. But while you’re familiar with the benefits of the new products, do you really know what to do with them?
As part of IBC’s commitment to investing in show-floor training sessions for 2009, the post production training zone in Hall 7 will help you learn, develop and advance your career via up-to-the-minute post production tools and techniques. Using the latest Apple and Adobe software on new generation iMacs, part of the hall is dedicated to providing you with the opportunity to experience these new desktop tools. IBC has invited a professional training company to run a structured programme on the latest editing software.
Jessica Bevan, Sales and Marketing Director at Corps Business, says: “Get cutting edge, hands on training from industry professionals in the Training Zone at IBC2009! In association with Corps Business, the leading Apple certified training centre in the UK, IBC will offer hands on experience with the latest video products from Adobe to Apple, including Final Cut pro, Motion and Color”.
With expert training staff on-hand to walk you through the finer details, attendees can apply the ideas gained in the Production Village to Apple Final Cut Studio, Apple Motion, Apple Color and the Adobe Production suite.
For example, there's an Adobe Photoshop session in which you will learn how to build multi-layered broadcast resolution graphics, while another session, Maxon Cinema 4D, will teach you how to create and edit textures with colours, patterns and graphics and add texture properties like reflection and transparency, working with lights and animating cameras. Case studies will illustrate the commercial applications of the editing suites, while Q&A sessions will give you the chance to ask about any of the applications used.
