    Marlene Edmunds

    Marlene Edmunds has been a film, TV, and multimedia correspondent and journalist for the last 25 years.

    She has worked for the world's top entertainment magazines, including being a European correspondent for Variety for 16 years. She has also worked for the Reed MIDEM family of publications, including MIP TV, MIDEM and MIPCOM, as well as World Screen, TV International, and other media publications.

    Edmunds has covered all genres and all territories around the globe in the area of multimedia, convergence, local product, music, advertising, publishing, film locations and software piracy, among an array of subjects. She has interviewed thousands of the world's top media executives, as well as major film and entertainment figures. She has also published in the areas of health, science, literary criticism and travel.

    Marlene is an experienced lecturer in the areas of writing and communications. She has taught at the University of Amsterdam and at the Oslo Business School. She moderates panels and speaks regularly about the media industry across the globe. She is an expert on the Asian media landscape and specializes in emergent cutting edge media territories, such as Korea.
    Edmunds holds a degree in British and American literature from the University of California at Berkeley, with a minor in Southeast Asian history and culture. She has studied the Japanese art of Aikido for 25 years.

    She holds Dutch and American citizenship, and divides her time between homes in France and The Netherlands. She is a lover of mystery and detective novels. In her spare time, she has completed Deadly Deception, a novel about murder, sex trafficking, piracy and the new mob in Europe, and is currently working on her second novel, Deadly Reckoning, about kidnapping, betrayal and religious fanaticism in the old and new Europe.
