Anuraj Gambhir

Anuraj Gambhir has worked in the mobile industry for over 18 years across many parts of the mobile value web and Devices ecosystem including leading Mobile Network Operators, Device Manufacturers, R&D Centres, International Bodies, Consultancy Firms, VAS developers/providers & wireless technology retail in Asia-Pacific, North America & Europe. He has an honours degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications from the University of NSW (Australia) and a micro-eMBA from Oxford (UK). 

He has worked from hands-on technical roles to senior executive management positions and is regarded by many as an industry visionary. Companies he has worked for include: NASA/JPL, SingTel Optus, Logica/Aethos, T-Mobile, Orange, GSM Association, Sharp, Siemens, BenQ mobile, Spice Corp & now Ericsson.

He has extensive experience in the areas of Product Portfolio - Planning, Strategy Development, Management and Technology - Strategy, Innovation, Vision, Marketing, Business Development, Trends Management, VAS, Smartphone development, etc. His expertise & focus has primarily centred around the mobile device / terminal value web and its growing ecosystem specially in the mobile data arena. Of late he has been focussing on mobile content, media and entertainment convergence as a part of the connected world.

He joined Siemens AG - Mobile Devices (later branded BenQ-Siemens) in 2003. His responsibilities there grew from devising Technology Vision, Strategy development, driving Innovation to Technology Marketing and Industry Relations.

Anuraj moved to India mid-2007 to join Spice as President, Innovation and Corporate Business Development (/Group Chief Innovation Officer) of Spice Corp. where he headed up Technology, Innovation and Strategic Business Development across the SPICE brand and the various companies of the global organization. He drove key synergies covering the vast ecosystem of the mobile industry from Telecom Services, Devices, VAS, Retail, BPO to Entertainment.

More recently Anuraj joined Ericsson to head up Multimedia Strategy & Innovation and is based in India.

Anuraj is a valued advisory board member of several organizations globally and has been involved in the evolution of key mobile standards.
