After several years spent in the research laboratories of France-Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, Jean-Pierre Evain joined the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in 1992. With a focus on new services and new technologies, he has been involved in several aspects of broadcasting standardisation including, quality evaluation, middleware, metadata, rights management, asset management, digital workflows and new digital production architectures. He has participated in or chaired numerous activities of formal standardisation groups in ETSI, ITU, ISO/IEC, CEN, or industrial forums like DVB, DAVIC, TV-Anytime or DLNA. He has also represented the EBU in many European projects and participated in proposals and projects reviews.
