Qbit GmbH develops
and manufactures professional systems to encode, decode and transport audio
signals.
At IBC2009 Qbit GmbH
presents the following products:
The new Q56x series
IP audio encoder/ decoder/ codec comes with up to eight stereo audio channels
(encoder, decoder or mixed) in a compact 19" 1U housing. Encoding
algorithms include MPEG-1 Layer 2, MPEG-4 AAC LC, MPEG-4 HE-AAC V1/2 and
Enhanced apt-X. Supported networks are IP, E1, DVB and ISDN. The DSP-based
hardware design ensures the highest energy efficiency (<2 W/stereo channel
in AES/EBU version).
The modular DVB
Audio Encoder System 'DAE' combines up to 15 MPEG audio encoders with a
transport stream multiplexer to create a DVB-compliant multiplex. Encoding
algorithms include MPEG-1 Layer 2, MPEG-4 AAC LC, MPEG-4 HE-AAC V1/2 and
Enhanced apt-X; supported networks are DVB, IP and E1.
This system is used
by several public and private radio stations all over Europe, including the
DVB-S radio transponder of the German public broadcaster ARD with 63 radio
services and the 19 radio services of the Swiss SRG-SSR. It is also used by
some major German cable network operators.
The professional DVB-S Audio Receiver 'DAR' provides
analogue and digital audio (MPEG I Layer II (decoded), AC-3 (pass-through)), as
well as data for feed and monitoring purposes.
