The 2009 IBC award for best conference paper went to Mark Waddell of BBC R&D for his contribution 'Compatibility challenges for broadcast networks and white space devices'.

All papers in the technical sessions are carefully peer-reviewed to ensure they represent the latest in technical innovation. As part of this review, the committee also look at the way that the thinking is communicated. The winner of the conference paper award, then, is recognised both for original research and clear presentation.
