Erik Huggers is corporate vice president and general manager of the Digital Home Group and a member of Intel’s Management Committee. Erik’s mission is to establish Intel as a global leader in hardware, software and services for the connected home and the rapidly emerging smart TV category. Prior to joining Intel, Erik was the director of BBC Future Media & Technology and a member of the BBC's Executive Board. He joined the BBC in 2007 and was responsible for the BBC's Online, iPlayer, Mobile and Red Button services helping audiences enjoy BBC programmes, wherever they may be. He also held responsibility for managing the Broadcast and Enterprise Technology group, BBC Archive, as well as leading the Research and Development activities. |
Before joining the BBC, Erik worked with Microsoft, where he operated across a wide variety of digital media initiatives. After successfully launching the MSN portals in the Benelux countries, he went on to lead the global business development efforts of Windows Media Technologies, establishing Windows Media as a leading platform used by the media and entertainment industry to create, protect and deliver content to consumers via the internet.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Erik worked with Endemol Entertainment as director of business development for their interactive division.
