O2 wins exclusive Disney+ mobile deal
O2 announced a brand new agreement with Disney to become the exclusive UK mobile network distributor of Disney+, the new SVOD service from The Walt Disney Company.

The agreement will see O2 and Disney join forces to offer customers a range of entertainment on smartphones, online streaming and TV.

Universal Pictures to stream new film releases
Universal Pictures is taking an unprecedented move by offering up movies that would otherwise be limited to cinema theatres as on-demand streaming options CNN reported on Monday.

Films such as Trolls World Tour originally set to release on April 10 and other recent releases such as The Invisible Man and Emma will be available for $19.99 each for a 48-hour window.

In a statement, NBCUniversal said it will continue to “evaluate the environment as conditions evolve and will determine the best distribution strategy in each market when the current unique situation changes.”

OneWeb confirms third launch
OneWeb announced its next launch will take place on Saturday 21 March from Kazakhstan.

In a press release, it states 34 satellites are set to launch, bringing the OneWeb constellation to 74 satellites. The launch will be livestreamed on Facebook.

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale suspends production due to coronavirus
The Handmaid’s Tale has announced they will halt the production for its fourth season due to coronavirus pandemic, according to Deadline.

The award winning series was filming its fourth season however MGM Television, the production company behind the series is in the process of winding down production across other shows also.

CNN completes deal with Vuulr
Global content marketplace Vuulr has made a deal with CNN International to add more than a dozen new titles to the recently launched buyers platform C21 reported.

Among the titles headed to Vuulr’s catalogue are Leading Women, First Steps: 50 Years After Apollo 11, CNN Expedition Antarctic and Culinary Journeys.
