Actor and studio entrepreneur Andy Serkis will deliver the first keynote session at The Forum on Sunday, where he will share his experiences and observations on the evolution of cinema.

Catch him in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter technology editor Carolyn Giardina, who will chair the session.

Serkis was announced as the winner of the IBC2019 International Honour For Excellence award and spoke with IBC365 on being honoured by the recognition.

The second keynote on Sunday involves technology leaders from major Hollywood studios revealing their shared vision for the future of content production. Come along to the session to hear the discussion of disruptive technologies in production.

Broadcast Academy at IBC2019

IBC partner The Broadcast Academy is holding sessions over two days starting on Sunday, when there will be engaging panel discussions and sessions.

There will also be live sports directing with a live TV simulator.

An annual fixture at IBC, The European Digital Cinema Forum Global Update session brings you up to speed with the latest business and technology developments in cinema around the world from manufacture through mastering, distribution and exhibition, focusing largely on the impact of digital cinema on the workflow and structures of the market.

Starting with a review of the state of the world-wide industry, leading practitioners from Europe and the USA share their experiences looking at a range of topical issues.

The IABM Future Trends continues with a programme of presentations in the Future Zone which explore upcoming tech and business trends. This Sunday there are 19 sessions in the Future Trends Theatre including creating AR experiences, immersive audio production and blockchain in entertainment.

The night ends with a spectacular celebration of the IBC Awards, where key players in the industry will be presented with awards for exceptional achievement from the year. This year’s award ceremony presents two new exciting awards; The Young Pioneer Award and The Social Impact Award.

The prestigious Content Creation, Content Distribution and Content Everywhere Innovation Awards, as well as the Best Conference Paper award will also be presented amongst other mainstay award categories.
