The Royal Television Society celebrates the best in UK television with its 2018 Programme Awards, held in London on 20 March. The BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Channel 5 have been nominated for excellence and creativity in broadcasting.  

The Connected TV World Summit takes place in London 20 and 21 March. Speakers at the conference include BBC Director of Audiences Nick North and CEO of MTG’s Central European Operations Jette Nygaard-Andersen.

Cloud Expo Europe exhibition and conference takes place in London 21 to 22 March offering delegates a line up of industry experts on the security sector. Free conference sessions and networking opportunities with over 150 practitioners. 

Festival of Media Asia Pacific held in Singapore on Thursday 22 March brings together senior individuals from across the media industry to network and offer insights on the key trends dominating the media landscape. 

China Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN) hosted in Beijing, China on 22 to 24 March is billed as the largest broadcasting technology and equipment exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. 

Film and TV releases 

Bear Grylls: Face the Wild is an unscripted documentary ordered by Facebook set to premiere on 21 March exclusively on Facebook Watch. The 10 episode action series will feature 10 of Grylls’ fans who have been invited to accompany him on an adventure to face the wild. Participants will share their stories as Bear pushes them out of their comfort zones and teach them survival skills. 

Netflix’s Requim is a six-part psychological thriller set in Wales and co-produced byNetflix and the BBC will come to Netflix Friday 23 March.
