The agenda for 2016 presented key transformational insights and case studies shared by influential speakers across the industry. We heard exclusive findings from our TMT research partner, IBM Global Business Services, focussing on and around the agenda themes as well as a wider opinion and perspective. The sessions will encouraged participation and networking of C-level delegates.
Sessions included a discussion on Eurosport’s strategy to sign up one million OTT subscribers by 2017, transforming the company’s culture and business model. We were shown how innovation and transformation are key to next-generation media and communications. We also heard from Spotify on how it has changed the way audiences consume music and we looked at the challenges and time span for the whole broadcast chain to potentially move online as the industry faces up to the prospect of Google TV.
In the digital era, it is necessary to look for the right partners to move your business forward and future-proof it, particularly for younger viewers. The IBC Leaders' Summit examined how and what strategic stakes and partnerships are necessary and where smart business should be investing. We will also shone a spotlight at some of the big regulatory issues across Europe including the digital single market, a media framework for the 21st Century and what the implications of this are for Europe and the rest of the world.
This year’s big debate looked at the best of business and strategy models for the future, embracing both the success of online businesses and the proven track-record of traditional broadcasting and content creation. An exciting line up of speakers including digital giants, media conglomerates, broadcasters, telcos, advertising agencies and emerging players provided a rich environment for debate, discussion and networking.
