IBC2015 Programme Overview

IBC2015 Programme Overview

For 2015 the IBC Big Screen Experience delved even deeper into the topics that are shaping its future. It will investigate High Dynamic Range, its technology, the practical considerations for the cinema sector, the standards work required, and the ramifications of delivering HDR images to both HDR-capable and non-HDR-capable systems.

It examined developments in Immersive Imaging, including some of the recent activities in premium cinema-going experiences that aim to heighten the viewers' experiences, as well as the emerging and fast-developing role that VR has to play.

It asked whether open standards initiatives in Immersive Audio have either opened up the market to healthy competition or opened instead a dangerous Pandora's Box.

Lastly, it interrogated the Business of Cinema. With live events, games and TV shows now on the big screen, with release windows under continued attack and new on-and-off-screen business models emerging, it asked what exactly is the definition of Cinema in the digital age and in what direction should it head to ensure success?
