Measuring and reducing interaction barriers in internet-delivered TV systems through age-informed human factors design

Tech Papers 2026: This study applies an age-informed human-factors methodology to identify and reduce interaction barriers in internet-delivered TV systems for adults aged 65-89.

Abstract

Internet-delivered television (IPTV) systems introduce layered navigation, authentication, and dynamic interfaces that increase interaction complexity versus legacy broadcast TV. Viewers’ predictable age-related cognitive and motor changes can amplify this complexity, exposing interaction fragility.
