A stream of applications: The Matrox Monarch Edge encoders

The Monarch Edge 4:2:0 8-bit encoder model is ideal for webcasting, claims Matrox, enabling users to generate over 16 streams simultaneously to target top online video platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, IBM Cloud Video and LinkedIn.

For remote production and remote integration workflows, the Monarch Edge 4:2:2 10-bit encoder version allows broadcasters to produce live, multi-camera events with increased operational efficiency. It delivers up to four synchronised, remote camera feeds to a master control room or cloud for production with remarkably low latency.

Also on show is the Matrox Monarch LCS streaming and recording appliance for dual-HDMI or HDMI and SDI multi-source webcasting, which only needs one-time configuration setup, with subsequent delivery with a single push of a button. The similar Monarch HDX unit can stream HDMI or SDI sources to Facebook Live and YouTube, while simultaneously recording a master-quality version for post-event editing or video on demand.
