wTVision: AR graphics include line-ups, information on players and matches, and virtual placement of some of the league’s main advertisers

The CSL setup rests on a combination of the latest version of wTVision’s sports graphics controller, FootballStats CG V5, its AR³ Football augmented reality software and the R³ Space Engine rendering engine.

AR³ Football and R³ Space Engine are responsible for tracking and virtual graphics placement, while operators on site can control and broadcast all augmented reality graphics thanks to the FootballStats CG software.

Augmented reality graphics include game presentations in two languages, line-ups, information on players and matches, and virtual placement of some of the league’s main advertisers. Every piece of graphic information was adapted and integrated into broadcasts by wTVIsion’s broadcast design team.

wTVision has been adapting this same solution in football championships all over the world, including Liga NOS or LaLiga, but it’s the first time Chinese football fans have been able to experience the immersive broadcast environment.

“We’re thrilled to have the Chinese Super League as the newest member of a vast number of football competitions that have already implemented wTVision’s AR solutions,” said Bruno Parreiras, China Division manager & partner, wTVision. “This project is the starting point of what we hope will be a long, challenging and creative relationship with CSL, adding value, innovation and contributing to leveraging Chinese football as a sports product. We’re proud of this first step and the partnerships that were created and strengthened with it. We have high expectations of the future and where it may take us.”
