SmallRig: SmallRig has developed a cage suitable for Sony’s A7III full-frame camera

The cage is designed to offer great protection and additional attachment options, allowing the camera to realise its full potential in different scenarios while providing lightweight operation, simplicity and strong compatibility.

According to SmallRig, seamless integration to the camera provides full access to all ports and buttons of the A7III, meaning that the camera hot shoe is accessible for Sony XLR-K1M and XLR-K2M. In addition, the cage features cold shoe on the top right, lens adapter ports, eyelets for straps, an abundance of 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threaded holes, and Arri locating pins for potential utilisation.

In other news SmallRig has also developed a new swivel and tilt monitor mount with Arri location pins. Designed to hold the user’s monitor with great stability and flexibility, the monitor mount makes it possible to swivel 360º and tilt 170º without extra tools, allowing the positioning of the monitor at specific angles.

The monitor mount supports any mounting system featuring Arri 3/8” locating holes. Arri 3/8” locating pins on the bottom and 1/4”-20 screw on the top offer additional mounting options. The rubber pad on top of the holder can protect the monitor from scratches, while the thumbscrew features holes for a hex spanner to further secure the monitor.

Made of CNC-machined aluminium, the monitor mount can support 5in and 7in monitors up to 1.2kg. For vertical (90º) payload, it can hold accessories up to 2.5kg.
