Philip Nelson

The Expert

Philip Nelson is the founder of Nelco Media, a boutique broadcast integrator/reseller that engineers next-generation live production workflows. Nelco specialises in “outside the box” projects for clients, including NBA, NFL Network, Caesars Entertainment, UNLV, U.S. Army, City of San Antonio and ACE Comic Con.

During his 20 years at NewTek, Nelson oversaw the cultivation of strategic customer relationships across all markets. Nelson has overseen numerous product launches, including TriCaster, VT[4] (Video Toaster) and SpeedEDIT.

At NewTek, Nelson has forged successful relationships with the NBA, NFL, Disney, ESPN, Fox Sports, Microsoft, Cisco and MTV. Nelson was a Technical Emmy nominee for NewTek TriCaster.

Prior to joining NewTek, Nelson was an entrepreneur, focusing on live programming and postproduction and started the first flat rate ISP in Louisiana. Clients included Phil Robertson’s Duck Commander, Tim McGraw, San Antonio Spurs, The Smithereens, MTV, Coca-Cola and Georgia Pacific.

Michael Cronk is Vice President of Advanced Technology for Grass Valley. Michael guides the critical development of Grass Valley’s next generation core technologies for both cloud and on-premise topologies including Grass Valley’s innovative, new Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP). Michael serves as Chairman of the Board for the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) – an organization dedicated to the promotion of open standards and specifications for the media and entertainment industry. Mike holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Steve Dargham, Telstra

Steven Dargham is the Business Development Executive for Major Events at Telstra Broadcast Services, and has over 27 years of experience in the telecom and technology industry. Since the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Steven has been working with Telstra’s sports, broadcast and media customers to deliver major live international events such as the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups, Commonwealth Games, Asian and SEA Games, and numerous international tennis events including the Grand Slams. Steven also led the Telstra support of James Cameron’s Deep Sea Challenge mission to the Pacific Ocean, architecting the network that helped the team connect, communicate and deliver the live broadcast of the historic expedition to the Mariana Trench’s lowest point, the Challenger Deep, which lies 10.99 kilometers below the ocean’s surface.

Nicolas Bourdon, EVS

Nicolas Bourdon is Chief Marketing Officer. Nicolas earned a Business Sciences degree from HEC Liege, Belgium. Nicolas spent six years as a Communications and Marketing Manager for the aviation company Sabena Technics in Brussels. He joined EVS as Director of Marketing and Communications in October 2005. Over the past 14 years, Nicolas has directly contributed to today's positioning of EVS as a worldwide leader in the industry. As EVS' new CMO, Nicolas will be managing the global market solutions activities from ideation to market delivery. He is also responsible for overseeing the company's global marketing, learning and community management activities. Nicolas is Board member of IABM (the association of the Broadcast & Media technology manufacturers) and has been appointed President of Belgian Sports & Entertainment Technology Club of Agoria in early 2020.
