Imagine: Top tips for media students and how to reskill an aging workforce

Glodina Lostanlen, Chief Revenue Officer, Imagine Communications, provides a frank assessment of a rapidly changing media landscape and emphasises the importance of transforming and reskilling an aging workforce.

With the disruption of AI, the way of learning has changed, meaning that those looking to adapt and learn are more likely to benefit during a time of uncertainty.

“If you join this industry thinking you’re going to do one thing, and one thing only your whole life, you’re going to miss how much more this industry can bring to you, and therefore how much more you can contribute to make it successful,” explains Lostanlen.

Looking to future generations, Lostanlen provides some sage advice and encouragement for those looking to enter the media industry, before calling on her peers to do more to attract new talent: “Come on, we’re in the media industry… we can probably reach out to the younger generation better.”

“We have to accelerate the effort we put into finding, attracting and retaining new talent,” she says.
