One Battle After Another, The White Lotus, and Adolescence lead Golden Globe nominees

One Battle After Another, The White Lotus, and Adolescence have emerged as the frontrunning films and TV shows for the 2026 Golden Globes.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s action thriller One Battle After Another led with nine film nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, as well as Best Director, and Best Screenplay.

Five members of the film’s cast picked up nominations, including Leonardo DiCaprio, while Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood picked up a Best Original Score nod.

In the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, One Battle is up against Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and two Richard Linklater films, Blue Moon and Nouvelle Vague.

The other big film nominees this year are: Joachim Trier’s drama Sentimental Value, which got eight nods; Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which received seven; and Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, with six nominations. All three will compete in the Best Motion Picture – Drama category against Frankenstein, It Was Just an Accident, and The Secret Agent.

In the television categories, The White Lotus led the nominees in six categories, including Best Television Series – Drama.

The White Lotus will compete against Severance, The Diplomat, The Pitt, Pluribus, and Slow Horses for Best Television Series – Drama.

Adolescence led the Limited Series categories, picking up five nominations. Stars Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, Owen Cooper, and Ashley Walters were all nominated, while the show will compete against All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, and The Girlfriend in the Best Limited Series category.

In the comedy categories, Only Murders in the Building scored four nominations.
