Super indie group Banijay has launched an AI Creative Fund which will provide development funding for its production companies to create formats using artificial intelligence and technology.

Banijay has billed the AI Creative Fund as an opportunity for its more than 130 production companies and labels across 21 territories “to fuel and supercharge people and teams to create formats which push the boundaries of creativity using Artificial Intelligence and technology.”

The new AI initiative is a group level investment which complements the existing Banijay Creative Fund, which to date has supported the evolution of original travelling formats such as Blow Up (Endemol Shine Nederland), Love Triangle (Endemol Shine Australia), The 50 (Banijay Productions France), Save the Date (Endemol Shine Finland and Endemol Shine Israel) and Starstruck (Remarkable).

Banijay shows include Survivor, Big Brother, Peaky Blinders, MasterChef, Rogue Heroes, Marie Antoinette, Mr Bean, Love Triangle, Hunted, The Summit, Black Mirror, Blow Up!, and Starstruck.

In 2022, Banijay was behind the launch of 200+ non-scripted titles and 90+ pilots.
