Born from his own experiences as a wheelchair-bound camera operator, Chris Lynch’s disabled-led production house Diverse Made Media has turned the frustrations of limited mobility and opportunity into a game-changing piece of camera technology, named Caerus. With it, Lynch is on a mission to shake up the industry and bridge its diversity gap.
This year’s IBC Talent Programme offered a timely glimpse into the many challenges that continue to stifle talent across the media landscape. While the broad agenda charted the good and bad at play within areas such as education, gender diversity, and recruitment and retention, the penultimate panel discussion focused on how the industry can, and should, do better at broadening the diversity of expertise within its ranks by engaging with untapped talent pools.
