Banijay Group has confirmed it is in talks about merging its TV production business with rival superindie All3Media.
The talks, which were first reported by Reuters, could lead to the creation of one of Europe’s largest production groups.
Paris-based Banijay is known for shows such as MasterChef, Peaky Blinders, and Big Brother, while London-based All3Media’s labels are behind hits like The Traitors, Squid Game: The Challenge, and Midsomer Murders.
Reuters reported that talks began towards the end of last year after Amsterdam-listed Banijay dropped its pursuit of the UK’s ITV Studios. Reuters added that the Banijay and All3Media talks are at an advanced stage.
In a statement, Banijay Group said: “At this stage, the company wishes to emphasise that no decision has been taken and that there can be no assurance that a transaction will be concluded. Further announcements will be made if and when appropriate.”
Banijay previously expressed interest in All3Media in 2023, but the company was subsequently acquired by RedBird IMI for £1.15bn in May 2024.
Banijay has over 130 production companies in 25 territories. All3Media has more than 40 labels across the UK, US, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
At IBC2025, Donna Mulvey-Jones, Director of Post Production at Banijay UK, stated: “I’m looking for something that solves current problems”. Discover more here.
