AI boost for Resolve and ST 2110 product push

As well as unwrapping DaVinci Resolve 21.1, and showcasing enhancements to Blackmagic Cloud, Blackmagic Design is highlighting native support for SMPTE ST 2110 standards in Hall 7.

The company used IBC to launch version 21.1 of DaVinci Resolve, which now supports MCP server integration with AI assistants such as Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex, as well as more than 100 new tools and controls for editing and colour grading workflows. Now available for download, version 21.1 also brings expanded support for camera formats on the new stills-focused Photo page, and more than 25 new Krokodove tools for the Fusion 3D and shape tool kit.

The Blackmagic stand also features Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G, a new model of the URSA Cine family with 100G Ethernet for high frame rate ST 2110 live production output. Also on the stand is Fairlight Live, a software-based live audio mixer with spatial audio mixing and ST 2110 broadcast workflow support. Two new ATEM Constellation IP live production switchers are also ST 2110 native.

Simon Westland, Director of Sales EMEA, Blackmagic Design, said: “ST 2110 is now very much here and is the choice for many, if not most, of the new infrastructure projects. If anyone is building new facilities, new stadiums or studios or exhibits or houses of worship, the choice now is pretty much to go ST 2110 straight away.”

Blackmagic Cloud is also rapidly developing, according to Westland. “It used to be pretty much only used within Resolve workflows. But Cloud has now expanded even further; the suite of products that now talk to it is immense. We can now stream straight from cameras into Blackmagic Cloud and make that camera file or that camera stream available anywhere in the world.”
