Spin Digital is previewing the latest features and improvements to its HEVC and VVC encoders At IBC, for VoD, Live and Ultra-low-latency applications, including new functionality for its Spin Enc Live encoder.
The encoder is optimised for UHD (4K, 8K) broadcast and streaming, as well as VR/360° immersive live experiences.
The company’s new statistical multiplexing (statmux) is based on innovative perceptual coding and content-aware encoding algorithms. It supports HEVC and VVC encoders and can combine streams with different properties including resolution and frame rates. A newly upgraded user interface allows status monitoring of all encoders in real time.
Mauricio Alvarez-Mesa, COO, Spin Digital, explained: “One of the main additions we're presenting at this IBC is the ability to combine multiple streams together. Sometimes people are streaming not just one camera view of an event, but multiple, so this enables multiple live streams to be put together in an efficient way."
"High visual quality is our main focus. For us it's more important that the quality is super high than that the cost is super low."
