AI is moving from experimentation into products “actually being experienced by customers” according to Evergent, with streaming platforms moving beyond one-size-fits-all subscriptions.
The company says rising content costs are forcing operators to find more flexible ways to monetise audiences. Evergent is using agentic AI-driven revenue orchestration to personalise offers around individual viewing behaviour, including retention offers when subscribers are on the verge of cancelling their contract.
Craig Ferguson, Associate VP Sales, Europe, Evergent, said: “We’re starting to have conversations with people where they want to have a more personalised engagement with those subscribers and those users.”
The shift is also extending to sports, with New Zealand’s national broadcaster TVNZ using Evergent technology to put some World Cup matches behind an event pass.
“What we’re experimenting more with now is micro passes,” Ferguson said, referring to smaller, bite-sized subscriptions, potentially allowing fans to pay for limited access to individual events.
The NBA is also exploring these options, according to Ferguson.
