Debuting at IBC, Nexus is BroadView Software's new cloud-native workflow orchestration platform.
Working alongside Uplynk, a cloud-native streaming service, and additional ecosystem technology partners, Nexus was deployed to help a major global media client, operating one of the industry's most complex channel portfolios, transition from satellite-based distribution to cloud-based streaming.
This new system addresses and reduces the pressures driving broadcast transformation across the industry: rising satellite distribution costs, end-of-life infrastructure, and the need to launch new channels and endpoints faster than dedicated hardware allows.
Michael Atkin, President & CEO, BroadView Software, said: "Nexus is a product that we've been architecting over the last year, driven from key clients' needs to bridge the worlds of broadcasting and streaming. These are not separate industries; they need to be merged and treated as one."
"Streaming platforms tend to be just that. They're not broadcast, and broadcast operations have decades of process workflows behind them. Nexus is designed to provide broadcast-level quality; workflow, automation, visibility, and control, but in a streaming world."
