Lemo’s new 3K.93C.Y series connector is a fibre/copper SMPTE 4K-ready connector for the broadcast camera market, which uses a reduced number of components for easier assembly.

This new design should help cable assemblers reduce build time, particularly as the assembly of the connector itself has also been simplified. Lemo is also set to introduce a large choice of accessories, fibre cleaning kits, positioning jigs and connector rubber sleeves to complete this product range at IBC 2019.

Also new is Lemo’s CST (compact splice tray), a 2U rack-mounted splice tray that allows users to quickly install a space saving and robust HD video bulkhead interface without compromising performance, claims the company. Each system accommodates up to eight SMPTE 311M hybrid fibre camera cables and is aimed at mobile production or studio applications where pre-terminated camera cables aren’t applicable.

Lemo Netherlands is also moving into a new facility that includes a larger production area to improve its capacity to deliver cable assemblies to customers. Located near Harlem, the factory will house larger stocks and feature an automatic stocking system to facilitate faster selection and shipping of connectors and Northwire cables.
