Accessories specialist SmallRig has announced the introduction of a number of accessories geared towards use with the BMPCC 4K camera.
A Full Cage provides accessory mounting and protection for the camera. It features multiple mounting points including NATO rails, 1/4”-20 & 3/8”-16 mounting threads, ARRI-style accessory mounts and cold shoe. The cage is securely fixed to the camera by 1/4”-20 screws on the top and bottom, and incorporates locating pins and rubber pads for a cozy fit on the camera. A built-in magnetic Allen wrench can help users tighten the camera screw whenever it is needed. It works with the SmallRig Samsung T5 SSD Holder 2245B, SmallRig Cable Clamp 2246B and SmallRig Lens Adapter Support 2247 to set up a rig for video shooting.
In addition, the SmallRig HDMI & USB Type-C Cable Clamp for BMPCC 4K Cage is compatible with the SmallRig 2203B cage, which is designed to prevent the camera’s HDMI and USB Type-C cables from accidentally disconnecting. This clamp attaches to the left side of the cage using two easy-to-grasp 1/4”-20 screws.
For use with the same camera, SmallRig has also developed the NP-F battery adapter plate in order to extend the battery life and shooting time. The battery plate features two DC outputs (7.4v and 12v) and comes with an LP-E6 dummy battery charging cable and a DC-LEMO 2-pin charging cable connected to the user’s BMPCC 4K. The battery plate is constructed with durable aluminium and incorporates a soft rubber pad on the bottom for anti-twisting purposes. It is possible to mount the plate to the camera rig using either a 1/4”- 20 thumbscrew or two 1/4”- 20 hex screws.
The battery connection indicator (blue) and the three-level battery life indicator (yellow) can help the user check the charge status and remaining battery, while the yellow light will begin flashing at 10% to alert about a low battery.
