Sony’s IP Live Production System expands

The two IP extension adapters transform the Sony HDC series of SDI system cameras into IP cameras with an ST 2110 interface, thus allowing advanced IP Live Remote Production and Resource sharing, implementing new workflow patterns for the current HDC cameras. The ST 2110 in HD will be available in April 2020 while a 4K solution, currently under development, is due to be launched by the end of 2020.

Sony has also introduced the MKS-R4020 and MKS-E1620 remote-control panels that are aimed at strengthening the reliability, speed and accuracy of commands through Sony’s Live Element Orchestrator software, which is designed to enable smart IP workflows.

The new PWSK-4509 interface board offers ST 2110 support for the PWS-4500 4K/HD live production server. The addition of the interface board allows the server to connect with an IP live production environment and enables it to receive and transmit multiple video and audio signals with 25 GbE (SFP28) via an IP network.

Throughout the IBC show Sony is hosting an end-to-end IP Live total solution demo that’s aimed at highlighting the potential that IP-powered remote productions and resource sharing can have for media organisations.
