Disney+ is launching ‘Verts,’ a new TikTok-style vertical video feed feature for its mobile app that allows users to swipe through recommended clips from Disney films and series.
Available to Disney+ subscribers in the US, the Verts feed is intended to help users quickly find shows. It is billed as the start of an ongoing evolution in bringing vertical video content to the platform.
With a tap of the new Verts icon in the navigation bar on mobile, users enter a vertical video feed and can swipe through a stream of scenes and moments from movies and shows on Disney+. They can then add to their Watchlist or jump directly into playback.
Disney first announced its push into vertical video content at CES in January and was seen as a way to compete for attention with platforms such as TikTok.
The company stated that Verts offers a fun, fast way to explore its catalogue from the moment users open the app in a format that feels modern and engaging. It said Verts was “tailor-made for how fans already enjoy discovering video on mobile devices.”
The Verts name has been used by Disney-owned sports platform ESPN since August 2025, with the studio saying that it has driven additional audience engagement.
The studio’s future plans include incorporating fan-made vertical videos to foster deeper user engagement and to enhance the platform’s competitiveness in the streaming market.
This includes “content from creators that reflects our fandoms, plus other storytelling formats, content types, and personalised experiences.”
