Tilta: The Hydra Alien facilitates installations on car doors, car hoods, or any other flat surfaces

Tilta has been involved since the initial development phase of RS 2 and has been officially authorised with the development protocols for all the peripheral interfaces.

Available next month, the Hydra Alien car mounting system is a more portable mounting solution that adapts the RS 2 for camera placement, stability and portability. Multiple options of suction cups facilitate installations on car doors, car hoods, or any other flat surfaces. It functions like a Russian Arm and switches with ease from high angle to low angle, and many other positions; all within one take. The remote control hand unit is said to be user friendly and supports remote run/stop.

The Hydra Motorized Slider is described as a lightweight and versatile system designed for quick assembly and disassembly, and is fully collapsible for easy travel. It supports remote control, adjustable sliding speed, A-B stops, and much more. Compatible with all car types.

Aside from using it for car shoots, the Hydra Motorized Slider also functions as a table top smart dolly. Equipped with RS 2, users will be able to operate a MIMIC system with follow focus, motion time-lapse and different tracking modes.

The Handheld Gimbal Counterbalance Stabilizer System makes it easier to handle a heavier camera rig for longer and with more ease. Designed to be comfortable to wear with waist buckles attached, it enables users to quickly adjust and switch the camera position for high and low angles, while smoothing out the vibration from moving quickly and sudden stops.

The precise and portable Cable Camera System enables shots over up to 100m of travel distance. Maximum payload is 10kg and the highest sliding speed is 4m/s. It supports wireless control and ultrasonic autonomous obstacle avoidance. Additional features include cruise control, A-B stops, path setting, time lapse, panorama and more.

When it comes to handheld operating accessories, the Advanced Rear Operating Handle for RS 2 can control the gimbal remotely and supports video recording, photo shoot, follow focus (with Nucleus-M or Nucleus Nano) and more. An optimised core balance design helps reduce the pressure from holding the gimbal for an extended amount of time.

The Advanced Ring Grip provides extended functionality to fulfil different shooting situations and styles. Users benefit from convenient access to gimbal joystick control, modes switch, video and photo record, as well as follow focus and zoom control with Nucleus-M and Nucleus-Nano to provide an overall more stable image.

Another option for battery pack expansion and increased stability is the Dual Handle Power Supply Bracket. Its dual-handle design reduces the pressure for operating a camera for long periods of time, enhances image stability and supports extended following shots. The gimbal can be powered by external V-mount and Anton Bauer mount batteries.

Two controllers will also be available that can be remotely operated or attached to other gear. The RS 2 Remote Control Handle directly controls the gimbal and operates video record, photo shoot, follow focus (with Nucleus Nano and Nucleus M), etc. The Dual Channel Wireless Lens Control Handle directly operates Nucleus Nano and Nucleus M for zoom and focus controls.
