The Broadcast Academy, the training and legacy unit of host broadcast specialist HBS, has deployed a new live TV simulator based on EVS’ X-One unified live production system.
The simulator will enable a range of new training programs, including a course on ‘lean production’ at England’s National Film and Television School (NFTS) that’s scheduled to launch in 2020. It will focus on delivering live productions at lower operational costs for Tier II and III level productions.
With built-in live switching, graphics insertion and audio mixing, X-One combines established speed and reliability with software-defined technology for an all-in-one live production system ideal for small and mid-sized events, claims EVS. By using the system, a single operator can switch between multiple camera feeds, create replays and highlights, control audio, add graphics to live programming and play back content.

The Broadcast Academy is presenting a master class at IBC2019, on Monday September 16 at (room G107 at 16:00), titled ‘lean production using software-defined technologies’, featuring the new live TV production simulator.
EVS will offer a prize to a selected participant attending this session that will include LSM operational training (basic replay operator) as well as training on X-One simulator at its headquarters in Belgium.
