Amazon has launched a Fire TV Stick 4K and redesigned its Fire TV Remote as part of its latest rollout of Fire TV hardware, which started earlier in 2026 with Fire TV Stick HD.
Fire TV Stick 4K is Amazon's latest 4K streaming device, delivering 4K resolution.
Amazon said that from powering on to streaming, the new 4K stick gets customers to content nearly 20-40% faster than a similarly priced 4K stick from another leading brand. It claims that the Fire TV Stick 4K turns on faster, apps launch over 35% faster, and content starts playing nearly 20% faster.
Amazon said it also tested the speed of Fire TV Stick 4K against the built-in experience of three 4K smart TVs from top-selling brands, measuring the average across the three most popular apps on Fire TV. It claimed Fire TV Stick 4K played content faster than all three TVs it tested.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is built with Amazon’s Vega operating system and includes Alexa+. It also comes with 8GB internal storage, a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, and support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth Low Energy. The system supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1 video content formats and features 2160p, 1080p, and 720p output resolutions up to 60 frames per second.
Amazon’s stick lineup now includes three tiers: Fire TV Stick HD for entry-level, everyday streaming; Fire TV Stick 4K for 4K viewing; and Fire TV Stick 4K Max, aimed at gamers and home theatre.
Alongside Fire TV Stick 4K, Amazon is also introducing a Fire TV Remote design, with more tactile controls. The asymmetric shape – which includes a flat top and curved, weighted bottom – was designed to make it quicker and easier to tell how to hold it.
Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Amazon recently struck a deal to add the advertising-free version of Peacock to the Prime Video offer. Discover more here.
