At IBC, Macnica will be demonstrating how its M2S media streaming software development kit can interface with Unity and Unreal Engine through a native plug-in. The media and entertainment industry has increasingly adopted these game engines for live production and high-bandwidth video workflows.

The M2S SDK enables implementation of software-based ST2110 and IPMX systems on general-purpose servers. This provides a gateway solution for broadcast systems that operate ‘all-IP’ workflows, whether deployed on-premise or in the cloud. This is further empowered by Macnica’s ‘multi-gig’ workflow capabilities across IP networks ranging from 1Gb to 100Gb.

Macnica to demo media streaming SDK with new plug-ins

The M2S SDK is designed as a simple and generic interface for real-time video streams. It can be used with a wide variety of network interface controller (NIC) cards, providing users with more flexibility to build products with optimal specifications. When used with Macnica’s 100 Smart NIC solution, developers have a bridge to IPMX with scalable hardware and software infrastructure options for 1Gb to 100Gb networks.

Macnica’s 100G Smart NIC solution marries off-the-shelf NIC cards with Macnica’s FPGA IP cores to enable highly efficient bandwidth usage. Its technology makes this possible by offloading the CPU and heat generation problems associated with wideband stream processing.
