As a subsidiary of the state broadcaster of Italy, Rai Way needed a future-proof solution to support its mission-critical playout operations. To achieve this, it implemented the Etere ETX video management system for resilient and software-centric playout automation.
Featuring an all-inclusive line up of features including cloud playout, ingest, multichannel playout automation, master control, interactive graphics overlays, subtitling and closed captions, multi-resolution support, full redundancy, virtualisation and multiviewer support, ETX provides a fully automated, customisable and intelligent synchronisation of workflows for Rai Way.
Etere has equipped Rai Way operators with the software tools needed to manage the insertion of channel graphics including fixed logos, animated logos, L-shape squeezes, crawls and transition effects to enhance content and introduce content monetisation opportunities.
Graphics can be imported in any format and distributed to the playout using Etere Media Manager. In addition, a low-res copy is automatically generated for preview.
Other features include ETX-M Multiviewer, which displays ultra HD resolution and allows users to manage up to nine displays monitors and unlimited input sources concurrently on the same screen. Etere ETX also supports full redundancy for a fault-resilient performance. It enables different levels of fault-tolerance including backup mode, master-clone mode and disaster recovery mode.
