The IBC Talent Programme returns to IBC2025 on 12 September with a wide range of sessions and speakers covering everything from mentoring and career pathways to practical skills, diversity and inclusion.
Part of the new Future Tech hub and taking place on the Hackfest Stage in Hall 14, the programme is supported by partners including Rise, Rise Academy, Host Broadcasting Services, EBU, Gals’n’Gear, Media Entertainment Talent Manifesto, and more.
Highlights of this year’s programme include a panel discussion around the work being done within schools and further education to bridge the relationship with the media industry, and the challenges of designing curricula for such a fast-changing industry. Innovative projects taking place across the media and entertainment space that pair emerging talent with established media organisations to collaborate on real-world productions will also be showcased.
In addition, Rise, Women in Immersive Tech Europe, Gals’n’Gear and Women in Streaming Media will provide insight and updates on their mentorship, education, and allyship programmes and the successes they’ve seen to date. Attendees will also hear from the industry talent – mentors and mentees – who are benefitting from these game-changing initiatives.
Later in the day, representatives from across the industry, including the BBC and IET, will explore the work being done to expand the diversity of talent in the media space and the support on offer for professionals in underrepresented areas. This includes mid-late career groups, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and neurodivergent talent. The challenges the media community faces in holding on to the talent it attracts will also be discussed.
The programme wraps up with an informal speed networking session at 17:00, providing an opportunity to connect directly with leading organisations and explore new opportunities in the sector.
The IBC Talent Programme is open to all IBC2025 attendees. Find out more and register here.
