Future AV professionals explore the industry at IBC
Audiovisual students from VISTA College in Heerlen travelled several hours to Amsterdam on Monday to explore the latest developments in the industry at IBC. Teacher Marc Baadjou takes the students on a tour of the show floor before they head out on their own assignment: producing reviews of the technology and innovations they discover.
Mojo's final day freebie hunt
Mobile Journalist Rosie Lobo goes around all the halls in the Rai to see how many freebies she can collect on the last day of IBC. She collects many mints, lanyards, pens, a few water bottles and even a free coffee. To top it all off, she even gets a massage!
Underwater camera and new Q4K cameras on show at IBC
Camera Corps is showcasing its latest Q4K camera technology at IBC, highlighting solutions designed for the requirements of live broadcast and large-scale events. The cameras have been used during some of the world’s most high-profile sporting productions, including the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games, delivering high-quality imaging and reliable performance in complex live environments. Camera Corps is also exhibiting its underwater camera technology, presented inside a glass case. IBC Mobile Journalist Isabelle Baker takes a look.
Pure passion: Rebels behind VLC are back, with a new cloud-based program
Kyber’s new venture brings the same open-source spirit to gaming and beyond. It lets people run games on old computers through the cloud, with ambitions to extend the technology to drones, robots, and more. The VLC community "makes everything work on every machine," Julien Navas, Chief Space Officer, VLC and Kyber, told IBC Reporter Esmée van Loo.

Remembering his first attendance as a 20-year-old on a camera crew at ER TV in Athens, John Callas says IBC at that time was only about film, and nobody had video cameras. "It's looking at me!" Higher levels for new 150g hand-controlled drone
While it may appear cute and harmless, the Dji Neo 2 is actually a tiny four-propeller powerhouse, featuring 4K/100fps video, a two-axis mechanical gimbal, and DJI O4 video transmission up to 10 km. However, the Neo 2's most interesting feature is that your hands become the drone’s flight controller, and now there are new levels of control. The winners of IBC’s stand awards have been announced, and IBC365 caught their first reactions. Videolabs/Kyber took Best Small Stand with its sustainable 90s-inspired teenager’s bedroom, while vMix won Best Medium Stand with an interactive Scalextric setup. Microsoft was named Best Large Stand for its immersive use of light, digital displays, and AI demonstrations; Ruwido received the Innovation Award for its minimalist and meticulously reusable stand design.

Sony FX5 draws crowds at IBC Amsterdam
For many visitors, IBC is the first opportunity to get their hands on Sony’s new FX5 camera. The highly anticipated model is drawing big crowds at the Sony stand. Sony explains why the camera is attracting so much attention, as customers who have already placed their orders will have to wait a little longer for deliveries. Until then, visitors can try it out at IBC.
Where sensors and software create moving viewpoint
Muybridge brought a software-based volumetric camera system to the IBC, where they were exhibiting for the first time. Instead of a conventional camera moving round a subject, multiple sensors are arranged in two-metre bars and software creates a freely moving viewpoint. They can be placed behind a tennis court, curved around a golfer or arranged around a boxing ring.
Apple Museum brings decades of technology to IBC
The Apple Museum at IBC showcases computers and editing technology from the 1980s and 1990s, with younger visitors reacting to the early tech.
The exhibition also looks ahead to Apple’s latest developments and the possibility of a foldable iPhone.
