IBC2019 conference and exhibition kicks off this week from 13-17 September.

Apple’s next big event will take place at Apple Park, California on Tuesday 10 September, where a trio of new iPhones is expected to be revealed.

Also in Amsterdam, the Future TV Advertising Forum is on Monday 16 September at the Rosarium Amstelpark.

DMEXCO 2019 takes place in Cologne, Germany from 11-12 September.

 

Film & TV releases

Period drama favourite Downton Abbey releases as a feature length film in cinemas this Friday.

Nicole Kidman stars in The Goldfinch, a drama about a boy in New York taken in by a wealthy Upper East Side family after his mother is killed in a bombing. It hits US cinemas on Friday.

The US version of Shameless has a new season 9 which lands on Netflix this Tuesday.

11 September 1928 First ever TV drama WGY’s Queens Messenger broadcast in the New York area starring Izetta Jewell.

12 September 1981 The Smurfs animated cartoon series by Hanna-Barbera first broadcasts in North America.

13 September 1969 Scooby-Doo Where are You by Hanna-Barbera debuts on CBS in the US.
