Indie content distributor Underground Slate has partnered with audio tech specialist d&b group to secure a six-month residency at the Science Museum’s Immersive Technology Experience Centre in London.
Leveraging d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape technology, the collaboration is designed to accelerate the future of immersive audio-visual storytelling, showcasing independent projects that explore the creative boundaries of sound, space, and narrative.
“This residency is about putting independent content at the forefront and creating space for true creativity to thrive,” said Tomasz Witkowski, Co-Founder of Underground Slate. “With d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape technology, we’re not just amplifying sound – we’re amplifying vision. We’re giving artists the tools to tell immersive, emotionally resonant stories in bold new ways.”
One of the first initiatives to emerge from this collaboration will be ThE ToYMaKeR’s KeY – a new British independent multi-platform franchise from Andy Turner, founder of AT Creates Studio, that spans comic books, cinematic motion comics, music, film, and live immersive experiences.
“We’re proud to champion storytelling that’s fearless and emotionally powerful,” said Turner. “This partnership with Underground Slate and d&b group lets us break out of the frame – creating living, breathing worlds you can hear, see, and feel. It’s a platform for true artists and real ideas.”
Martin Monov, Commercial Enablement Manager at d&b group, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Underground Slate to the d&b Immersive Technology Experience Centre. This partnership reflects our mission to stretch the creative and technical boundaries of storytelling. Supporting independent voices with d&b Soundscape is what drives our innovation.”
