Taiwan’s leading commercial broadcaster Chunghwa Telecom has signed a deal with Telestream for QoE assurance and 4K media processing requirements.

The contract sees Chunghwa adopting Telestream’s Vantage media processing platform for its 4K broadcast operations. It will also ensure its quality of service (QoS) standards are met using Telestream’s Vidchecker automated Quality Control software for file-based media. They will be used across the broadcaster’s VOD and live catch up workflows.

Chunghwa has also selected Telestream to supply its iQ Inspector and iQ Surveyor video monitoring and analytics system, and has supplemented its video monitoring network with Telestream’s iVMS ASM management system, which manages and co-ordinates the video monitoring probe network. This allows operators to correlate all the alarms within a network in a single management platform, for faster discovery of issues and their resolution.

Chunghwa is regarded as a technology pioneer in Taiwan. Having a single company “capable of meeting all their 4K media processing, QC and QoE needs was very attractive to Chunghwa Telecom. It is a good illustration of the value to customers of our long-term investment in growing Telestream’s reach and expertise,” commented Alistair Butler, Telestream’s worldwide chief of sales.

Telestream is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 7.C14, 7.C16.
