Red Bee Media has sealed a strategic partnership with Pixit Media at IBC to deliver high-performance storage with secure data segregation for international managed playout services.

Red Bee’s software-defined playout managed services enable rapid configuration and deployment of new TV services, allowing broadcasters to quickly add new channels and features. To streamline its workflows and securely protect customers’ assets, Red Bee is deploying Pixit Media’s PixStor as its central storage platform.

PixStor has been enhanced to meet Red Bee’s specific requirements to deliver secure multi-tenancy capabilities within a single storage namespace, to avoid costly management and complexity of separate infrastructure stacks for different clients.

The system has so far been deployed at Red Bee playout centres in Sweden and the UK, including its London-based Red Lab R&D facility, with other sites to follow.

PixStor is “a proven highly resilient storage architecture upon which we can rely,” explained Dave Travis, chief product & technology officer, Red Bee, who praised Pixit Media’s consultative approach and 24/7 support.
