Red Bee Media: To explore accelerating digital transformation in the media and broadcast industry

During IBC SHOWCASE Red Bee Media will host a series of discussions exploring the impact of Covid-19 on the media and broadcast industry.

The sessions, under the title Business Transofrmation in an Uncertain World, will look at how the coronavirus has impacted the industry, including the threat to existing business models, how the pandemic is accelerating digital transformation and how broadcasters are increasingly looking to outsource discrete elements of their workflows. 

IBC SHOWCASE, the virtual event that will take place 8-11 September at ibc.org, will feature tech leaders discussing key industry topics during sessions led by Red Bee Media, Synamedia, Intel, Dell Technologies, Equinix and Microsoft.

The first of Red Bee Media’s sessions on Wednesday 9 September is titled

Managing costs, complexity, and risk in the media and entertainment ecosystem. During the session, a panel will examine the efficiencies that can be realised with this process, the issues that need to be considered, and provide high-level strategic insight into the benefits that can result.

A panel of experts will explore these themes from the perspective of outsourcing, discussing the challenges and benefits of handing over media operations, either in part or in its entirety, to a third party. Attendees can expect a deep dive discussion on what strategic choices can and should be made, how resource allocation can be optimised and how to ensure longevity and audience satisfaction while maintaining agility, flexibility and innovation in a volatile media landscape.   

As live sport returns to screens around the world, the sports and media industries are starting to evaluate lessons learned from Covid-19 lockdowns around the world. During the second session, The New World of Sports Media, Red Bee Media will lead a discussion on the current and future priorities in sports media, improved ways of producing sports content, new technologies & workflows, how fan engagement and audience nurturing has changed and new approaches to monetising sports content.   

In the third and final Red Bee Media session, titled Transformation of content delivery and linear playout, Red Bee Media will together with a customer will share their experience from transforming the company’s technology platforms and operating models to deliver an end-to-end managed service offering which echoes the demands of the broader industry.
