Blackmagic Design has unveiled the Blackmagic PYXIS 12K, a new digital film camera featuring a 12K RGBW sensor in the PYXIS camera design.
The new model features the same sensor as the URSA Cine 12K LF with 16 stops of dynamic range along with dual CFexpress media recorders, 10G Ethernet and Blackmagic Cloud global sync.
The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is available in three models, with customers able to choose between L-Mount, PL or Locking EF lens mounts.
The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K will be available in July from Blackmagic Design resellers for US$4,995.
Blackmagic PYXIS models feature a large full frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032 or 12288 x 8040. The cameras can shoot in all standard resolutions and frame rates from HD up to DCI 4K, 6K, 8K and 12K.
Other tech announced by Blackmagic at NAB includes Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Handle and Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Grip which are both new accessories that transform Blackmagic PYXIS into a flexible run and gun camera for broadcast and documentary work.
Meanwhile, Blackmagic has also announced DaVinci Resolve 20, a new update that adds over 100 new features and AI tools such as AI IntelliScript, AI Animated Subtitles, AI Multicam SmartSwitch and AI Audio Assistant, as well as keyframe editing, voice over palettes, multi layer compositing tools, new optical flow vector tools and updates to Magic Mask and depth map. DaVinci Resolve 20 public beta is available for download now from the Blackmagic Design website.
It has also unveiled ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K Plus, an Ultra HD switcher with 80 standard converted 12G-SDI inputs and 48 independent 12G-SDI outputs.
Also announced as part of the ATEM family is ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2, a second generation ATEM Mini live production switcher and ATEM Micro Camera Panel, a new portable camera control panel with high end broadcast CCU controls for ATEM switchers.
The Blackmagic 2110 IP UpDownCross 12G is a new standards converter for live production and broadcast that lets customers convert between any SD, HD or Ultra HD video format via 12G-SDI, HDMI and SMPTE-2110 IP video connections.
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is a new rack mount media backup solution that allows customers to use inexpensive computer hard drives to backup media files fast. According to Blackmagic, it’s perfect for archiving completed projects to low cost storage.
For post, there are two new 2110 IP converter models, Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G and Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G-10. These new models are designed to allow the latest OLED TV to be used for color accurate monitoring, such as in color grading and edit suites.
