Dynamic media production comes Home

Lawo is showcasing its Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) approach in Hall 8, which adapts broadcast resources in real time in response to changing production demands.

Three new Apps have been added to its Home management and orchestration platform: Logo Inserter, Key and Fill Extractor, and Stream Share.

Stream Share supports shared environments and resource sharing when multiple production trucks are connected, with a particular fit for sports production. Logo Inserter lets operators to overlay HTML-based logos onto live video streams in real time, while the Extractor app generates separate Key and Fill streams compliant with ST 2110-20.

Andreas Hilmer: "we've proven at scale that it works" Lawo

Andreas Hilmer, Chief Marketing Officer, Lawo, believes this year’s IBC represents the coming of age of software-based media production infrastructure, and commented: “We just feel there is a change in mindset – we’ve been installing the DMF in the field for two years. It's operational at the biggest sports events in the world, based on software-based infrastructure, so we've proven at scale that it works. Now the general broadcaster is also becoming convinced that this is the path to go.”
