Warner Bros. Discovery sets out Wimbledon coverage plans for Europe

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has confirmed its European coverage plans for this week’s Wimbledon tennis championship through its HBO Max, Eurosport and TNT Sports platforms.

Every match from the tournament will stream live on HBO Max in 11 countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden.

In total, 218 live hours will be covered by Eurosport across its multi-market coverage with Eurosport Romania planning additional local coverage windows around its key players.

In the UK, TNT Sports will produce a 90-minute highlights and behind-the-scenes programme airing at 10pm BST following play. It will also show the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles Finals in full on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July respectively. Highlights will also be available to stream in the UK on HBO Max throughout the tournament.

In the Nordics, selected matches including the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles Finals will be shown on WBD’s free-to-air channels – REX (Norway), Kanal 5 and 9 (Sweden), and TV5 (Finland).

In-app innovations on HBO Max include Key Moments, allowing viewers navigate to key points in the game; Multi-view, which showcases up to four matches simultaneously on one screen; Multi-language feeds with selectable commentary available; and 1080p Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos coverage.

Presenter Rachel Stringer will anchor Eurosport and TNT Sports’ coverage alongside former British No.1 Johanna Konta.
