Weighing just165g, the Bolero Mini wireless intercom beltpack is Riedel’s smallest and lightest to date. It uses technology developed for Riedel’s RefSuite managed package for sports production.
Jake Dodson, Executive Director, Product Management, Riedel, said: “Bolero Mini has all the technology that Bolero has, and can scale to 250 beltpacks with 100 antennas.” It uses advanced DECT, with “unique technology that allows it cope with wireless reflections”.
There are 1.9GHz (the most popular) and 2.4GHz versions. Thomas Riedel, Founder and CEO, Riedel Group, said: “Bolero now has a high-power mode for North America and China, to help overcome any additional interference you’d get at 2.4GHz.” It also has advanced 5G anti-interference technology “as we could see interference growing as 5G networks use higher output 5G cell towers”.
In Bolero Integrated mode, the Mini operates seamlessly within Artist intercom environments, but it can also work in Standalone Link mode for smaller productions, temporary projects, or when Bolero needs to connect to other systems in a SMPTE ST 2110/AES67 network.
The Mini has four programmable buttons, dedicated volume controls, and a small push-pull connector, plus Bluetooth for headset or smartphone connectivity, and intuitive Touch&Go NFC registration.
